2019 Photo Contest – Landscape

Rainbow in the Falls (Iguazu, Argentina)

Gold Coast Fishermen (Ghana)
Photographer’s statement: I spent a couple weeks in January 2019 exploring the coastlines of Senegal and Ghana, this shot from the Cape Coast Castle really captures the colors and landscape I’ll remember from the trip. It was especially exciting to visit the beaches I was first made aware of in the 1966 film “The Endless Summer” and to see the locals fishing in the same style 53 years later.

Black Sand Beach (Maui, Hawaii)

This photo was taken by me on my visit to Machu Picchu in October of 2016. The Three Windows represent the Underground, Heaven and the Present and also represent the rise of the Sun

“A Full Harbor”
The old harbor of Kyrenia (Girne in Turkish) glistens in the morning sun as it’s 16th century castle keeps watch above

Title: Loved the Clouds
Statement: During our stay at Torre del Paine I was awestruck by the clouds, ever changing and rearranging themselves.

Chapter: Seattle
Title: Interesting Foreground
Statement: Many of the photographic classes and seminars emphasized the need to put something interesting in the foreground of your wide angle images. I took this guideline to heart. Atacama Desert, Chile.

Title: The Lonely Outpost
Statement: On our Bus trip to the Atacama Desert, we had a rest break overlooking the ruins of this outpost. Chile lacks the military history of many countries. This location saw very little action on this major trade route.
