A message from the Board of Governors

Effective January 1, 2016, the Club’s annual dues will be $175 except for members under age 30, who will pay $100.  The initiation fee will also increase to $175 except for applicants under age 30, who will pay $100.  The initiation fee for the spouse or partner of a member in good standing will also be just $100.  A couple applying together will pay $225.

It had been ten years since the last increase in Club fees.  The Board felt that this modest change was needed to continue providing sufficient rebates to New York Metro and the Chapters to support their events.  In addition, the increase will ensure that The LOG and the Log Express remain the quality publications that we have come to enjoy.  Finally, it will ensure that the Club is able to adopt new administrative technologies and software.

Thank you for your support of our historic organization.

The Winter LOG will be out soon

With lots of great stories and photos from our members, The LOG will be arriving to your address before Christmas. Please share your comments with headquarters and it’s not too early to give suggestions for stories for the first LOG of 2016.

The Last Shot

Winter is coming with its cold and beauty (if you live in the north). Here is a shot of a snowbound cardinal in Pennsylvania, taken by this writer.

Happy Holidays to all our members, families and friends.

 Luck to you!!

Our November 11, 2015 meeting at the Pelican Bay Club was well attended by 90 members. Roger Baker, one of our members, spoke of the Colors of India, where he and his wife Paula had traveled extensively. A most wonderful presentation of a very large and varied society.

host and hostess Jack and Tina Nicholson

What a great Halloween Party at the residence of Tina and Jack Nicholson.  Musical and operatic entertainment was provided by members of Opera Naples.  Delicious appetizers,  multi choice entrees, and wonderful desserts were offered;  all prepared by our gracious hostess  Tina. It was a balmy night in Naples, where 82 members and guests had a great time.  Great thanks to our host and hostess Jack and Tina Nicholson.

Holiday Spirit and a Special Celebration…

charlieCircumnavigators will join together for a holiday celebration and to honor illustrious member Charlie Blaisdell on his 100th Birthday. A past president and active in the Club for decades, Charlie hasn’t lost his sense of humor. At a recent gathering, he said he wanted to dispel the rumor that he was one of the Club founders! Charlie has lots of  great stories and it will be a treat to join him for this big event.

The party will be held on December 10 at the Explorers Club, located at 46 E 70th Street in New York City. Contact Tracy Sancilio at headquarters to make a reservation for this event, or use the form here. It will be a lot of fun in beautiful NYC during the holidays.
