Spring is here…

Except for our Singapore Chapter, Spring has arrived and Circumnavigators look forward to another season of travels and adventures (although our prodigious traveling doesn’t seem to be seasonal). The LOG, coming out in the early summer, wants to know about your recent trips and travel plans for our All Over the Map section. Just drop us a short note or photo, so we can share your travels with other members. Send directly by email to davidamink@me.com or club@circumnavigators.org.

Join us May 19…

Also in May, our Annual Meeting will be held on May 19 at the Yale Club. The meeting, luncheon and presentation by the Atlas Obscura founder will be an interesting event and a chance to meet with fellow Circumnavigators. Co-authored by our speaker, Dylan Thuras, the book Atlas Obscura—An explorer’s guide to the world’s hidden wonders — will be available for sale. This well-reviewed book takes the reader to more than 700 of the strangest and most curious places in the world. Please sign up for the meeting here.

Our web site…

This month, members will be receiving a short survey through Survey Monkey about our web site. We are making plans to revamp the site to allow more interaction for Circumnavigators. The brief survey will give us some info to help us improve the site. It will also ask a few questions about our Circumnavigators group page on Facebook. Thanks for helping us!

Caps and badges…

We have a fresh inventory of Circumnavigators caps, available in black or white for $20 each. Let Tracy know if you are interested in purchasing a hat.  Our handmade Club blazer patches are also available for $50 each. Only three left!

Only 3 of our handmade Club badges are left! Get yours now…

Dinner and Program at the Coffee House

On Tuesday, April 25 members and guest enjoyed a wonderful dinner and program in New York with guest speaker Theodore Scull, a New York-based author, travel writer and lecturer. Among his 12 published books published are 100 Best Cruise Vacations, Ocean Liner Odyssey, and Ocean Liner Twilight. He is Co-Founder of quirkycruise.com, an informational website describing cruises on small ships that carry between 10 and 300 passengers.  New York members welcomed Cs. Jim Foster and Stefan Krasowski from the Pacific-Northwest Chapter and C. Bruce Kropschot from the Naples Chapter. Secretary Sue Murphy presented C. Stefan Krasowski with his membership certificate.
